CVO Electrical Systems is providing engineering services to the contractors responsible for the electrical system improvement project now underway at the US Army Corps of Engineers Hydroelectric Project at John Day Dam on the Columbia River.  The project provides a new 13.8 kV power supply system for the dam's fish ladder and additional electrical system improvements.  CVO Electrical Systems is working with O'Neill Electric and Olsson Industrial Electric, providing assistance with equipment procurement, development of test procedures and also serving as commissioning engineers.

City of Ashland Reeder Gulch Hydro Electric Plant Refurbishment Nears Completion

Hydro TurbineReeder Gulch Hydro is on-line following a complete upgrade of the electrical and control systems. CVO Electrical Systems provided complete engineering services for the replacement of the Reeder Gulch Hydro Electric facility's control and electrical systems. Work includes new generator switchgear and a complete replacement of the existing PLC and PC-based Master Station. The historic hydro plant has a capacity of 750 kW and first went on-line in 1909. The new control system includes a new touchscreen for operator control, new protective relays and new automatic synchronizer. The unit will be integrated with the new SCADA system now being installed by the Ashland Electric Department.

Columbia Ridge Waste-to-Energy Facility - Waste Management and Columbia Basin Electric Coop

115 kV SwitchCVO Electrical Systems is providing engineering services related to the new Columbia Ridge Generation Facility located near Heppner in Central Oregon. The facility is being constructed by Waste Management Inc. and will burn methane gas from a large landfill to generate 8 MW of electrical power. Our portion of the project includes engineering services related to the 4160 V - 115 kV substation, and 2 mile section of 115 kV transmission line.

We are providing engineering services related to equipment purchase, system integration, constructability, testing and commissioning.

Canby Utility Westcott Substation Expansion

Canby Utility in Canby, Oregon is expanding its Westcott substation, originally designed by CVO Electrical engineers in 2000. A new 20/26.7/33.3 MVA transformer along with new distribution equipment will double the capacity of the existing substation. CVO Electrical is providing complete engineering services including system integration for the substation automation and SCADA systems.
